Land Acquisition (State Head/Lead)
Role Overview:
Lead and manage all land acquisition activities within the assigned state to ensure the timely availability of clear, dispute-free, and cost-effective land parcels for solar and wind energy projects. This role is pivotal to supporting our client's strategic growth and sustainability objectives.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree (Preference for LLB/LLM)
Experience:
- Minimum 18–20 years of professional experience
- At least 5–10 years in the renewable energy sector
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Planning (State-Level)
- Develop and implement a comprehensive land acquisition strategy aligned with client's business goals and project pipeline.
- Identify high-potential regions based on resource availability, grid connectivity, and land feasibility.
- Maintain up-to-date data on land rates, government policies, and market trends.
2. Land Identification & Feasibility
- Identify suitable land parcels (private, government, revenue, or wasteland) for renewable energy projects.
- Ensure technical feasibility in collaboration with engineering teams (e.g., shadow-free zones, wind speed, parcel contiguity).
- Oversee thorough due diligence of land titles and ownership records.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and nurture relationships with:
- Local landowners and community leaders
- Brokers and facilitators
- State and district-level government officials (Revenue, Energy, Forest, Panchayat, etc.)
- External legal and technical consultants
4. Team Leadership & Execution
- Establish and lead a high-performing land acquisition team across the state.
- Define KPIs and monitor progress to ensure timely execution.
- Provide hands-on support during negotiations, documentation, and land possession.
5. Legal & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure adherence to land laws, renewable energy policies, and state regulations.
- Collaborate with the Legal team to resolve disputes, title issues, and regulatory challenges.
- Supervise documentation, registration, and mutation processes.
