Location: Tamil Nadu
Experience: 2 to 15 Yrs.
Position Overview:
The person will be responsible for assisting in the efficient management of materials, tools, and equipment used in the RDSS Power Project in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. This role involves maintaining inventory, records, ensuring proper storage of items, assisting with receiving and dispatching materials, and supporting the overall functioning of the store/warehouse to meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Assist in receiving and recording materials upon delivery to the project site.
- Ensure materials and equipment are properly staged, categorized, and labeled in the store.
- Monitor stock levels as per DI and notify the store in-charge when inventory needs replenishing.
- Perform monthly physical stock counting and reconciliation to avoid discrepancies in stock records.
2. Material Handling:
- Unload, segregate, and organize incoming deliveries efficiently and safely.
- Pick, pack and issue materials to various contractors / stock transfer based on demand.
- Ensure safe and organized storage of materials in compliance with safety regulations, preventing any damage or loss.
3. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of materials received and issued.
- Update the inventory management system regularly to reflect stock quantity.
- Ensure proper documentation for materials such are dismantle damaged, returned, or replaced.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports if inventory status.
4. Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming materials in respect of damage, defects and storage to the Store Supervisor.
- Ensure all materials are in good condition before storage or issuance for project use.
- Ensure hazardous materials are handled correctly, stored separately, and properly labeled.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualification: 12th / Graduation / Master’s / certificate in Store.
- Prior experience as a Store Assistant, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar role (preferably in the power sector (distribution or Transmission sector).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention in details.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi, knowledge of local languages (Tamil / Malayalam) is a plus to enhance communication within the region.
