TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Structural Design Supervisor role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized two-year technical diploma or equivalent international qualification in a relevant discipline, along with 20 years of related professional experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and directly applicable experience totaling 22 years is acceptable for candidates without a formal degree. Additional qualifications may be required depending on regional regulations.
- Proven ability to monitor personal progress and contribute effectively to project milestones.
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with internal teams, leadership, clients, suppliers, contractors, and site personnel.
- In-depth technical expertise relevant to structural design responsibilities.
- Capacity to understand and apply local, regional, and national codes and regulatory standards.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
- Awareness of material availability and cost factors in the commercial market.
- Competence in using standard office software, including spreadsheets, word processors, email platforms, and presentation tools.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate actively with the Lead Engineer and other disciplines to support integrated project execution.
- Provide technical input and informal guidance to design team members as needed.
- Manage individual workload to align with project timelines and deliverables.
- Conduct quality reviews of design work completed by others when requested.
- Evaluate drawings and vendor documentation from other disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications, and assist in resolving any identified issues.
- Apply relevant codes, standards, and internal procedures consistently throughout design tasks.
- Perform accurate bulk material take-offs and prepare supporting documentation.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by the Lead Engineer.
