Structural Draughtsman

TRS Staffing are supporting one of the largest shipyard organizations in the Middle East.

We are looking for talented shipyard professionals for a leading provider of marine and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors.

Job scope:
Responsible for managing, controlling teaching and checking of a group of draughtsmen in line with project and department requirements as instructed by structural and /or outfitting engineers.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare engineering drawings, details, sections, charts and similar documents from rough sketches and specifications as directed and created by structural and outfitting engineers.
• Coordinate and teach structural draughtsmen to ensure that department related standards are followed.
• Prepare and verify detailed production design including 3D models.
• Produce and verify production fabrication and installation drawings.
• Ensure that structural draughtsmen are carrying out their assigned task as per project schedule requirements.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements based on structural engineer request.
• Prepare bill of materials, and weight calculations.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Diploma in any Engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a shipyard
• Proficient with software such as AutoCAD 2013 or later version Cadmatic Hull and outfitting, Ship Constructor 2017.
• Familiar with codes and standards like IACS/NORSOK/DIN/EN/JIS/AWS D1 etc.
• Experience in producing engineering design and production drawings for Ships and Offshore structures.
