Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct topographic, boundary, and volumetric surveys for open-pit and/or underground mining operations.
- Prepare and maintain survey control networks and databases.
- Generate detailed survey reports, maps, and 3D models using industry-standard software.
- Support daily mine operations with precise layout and as-built surveys.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor junior surveyors (Senior role) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mine Surveying or related field.
- Minimum 3-8+ years of experience in mining or heavy industrial surveying.
- Proficiency in survey instruments (e.g., GPS, Total Station, Laser Scanners).
- Experience with software such as Surpac, AutoCAD, or Trimble Business Center.
- Registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., SAGC or PLATO) is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of mine planning integration and data management systems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
