Our client based in Newcastle is looking for an Sustainability Advisor . This role is on an initial one-year contract based outside IR35. As the Sustainability Advisor you will have the following:

Your role will encompass:

 
  • Coordinate the collection of data and metrics following the reporting standards and company guidelines, according to relevant legislative requirements, for the Sector of Energy.
  • Organize and participate in meetings across Energy, to educate, provide support and facilitate the process of preparation for the issuance of Annual Integrated Sustainability Report requirements & attend Assurance meetings with External Assurance Bodies.
  • Monitor the Sustainability Data collection progress (i.e. via Engage Platform) and related deadlines & provide updates to management regarding Energy Sector reporting performance.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of ad - hoc HSQ & Sustainability Division Projects and sustainability initiatives, driven by specific company needs and as required, across the Energy Sector.
  • Collect data and prepare detailed reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommendations, by identifying areas for improvement with regards to CSRD implementation and the Sustainability Reporting process.
  • Stay updated on global ESG trends, regulations, and reporting standards, and proactively suggest adjustment of Energy strategies, as required.
 
What you bring to the role :
 
  • BSc or MSc in Engineering or Environmental Science or Sustainability or other related field.
  • 2 + years proven experience in ESG/ Sustainability/ Environmental Management Systems roles. Experience in the energy industrial sector would be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks, methodologies and International Standards (such as CSRD- ESRS, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, SBTi, EcoVadis, United Nation Global compact, ISO 26000, OECD guidelines, AA1000, Water Stewardship, Carbon footprint etc)
  • Any related to sustainability professional certification will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Standards would be considered a plus.
  • Experience in project management & familiarity with auditing/ audit processes and audit reporting will be considered a plus.
