We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil and structural engineering and proven expertise in contract management within the energy sector. This role will be pivotal in delivering complex infrastructure projects. The role is based in Torness and is an initial one-year contract outside of IR35.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of energy infrastructure projects (e.g., substations, transmission lines etc)
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, and consultants
  • Oversee civil and structural design reviews, approvals, and construction activities
  • Administer and negotiate contracts (FIDIC, NEC, bespoke forms), ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Monitor project performance using KPIs and reporting tools
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
  • Ensure adherence to HSE standards and promote a safety-first culture
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and change control processes
  • Support tendering and procurement activities, including technical evaluations
 Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Chartered status (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong understanding of contract law and experience with major contract forms (e.g., NEC, FIDIC)
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale energy projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of grid connection and transmission infrastructure
  • Familiarity with environmental and planning regulations
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification
