Tailings Engineer

In this role, you will work alongside a talented multidisciplinary team on a variety of projects including tailings and water embankment projects. You should have previous experience in the Civil or Geological industry, with a background in oil sands or mining projects.

Job Duties:
- Knowledge and support of tailings and water embankment projects; investigations, laboratory testing, monitoring of construction & design, analysis and safety.
- Ability to mentor and lead technical support, reviews, calculations and analysis
- Provide cost estimates, tenders, documentation, reporting, scheduling, budgets and deadlines
- Skill in preparing proposals and develop new business opportunities
- Train & mentor staff, build relationships with new and existing clients and desire to meet client and project expectations
- Background will highlight: Oil sand tailings projects, soil mechanics, slope stability, seepage, settlement, performance indicators, and geotechnical installation and monitoring.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering, Masters degree is considered an asset
- Must have 5+ years of experience in a similar capacity
- P.Eng designation is a must or the ability to obtain one
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
