Responsibilities:
- Manage power system studies, including load flow, short‑circuit, grounding, protection, and reliability analyses.
- Support business development by contributing to technical proposals, design approaches, and pursuit strategies.
- Direct system integration efforts, coordinating interfaces with civil works, rolling stock, signaling, communications, and station power.
- Ensure safety, assurance, and quality processes are applied throughout design and execution in accordance with relevant standards.
- Liaise with utilities, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders to secure approvals and maintain compliance with applicable codes.
- Guide project teams through planning, design, and delivery phases.
- Oversee the layout and performance requirements for substations, distribution infrastructure, and power supply systems.
- Lead the development of electrification and traction power strategies for major rail and transit programs.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer.
- 15+ years of experience in rail electrification, traction power, or large-scale transit electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of AC and DC traction power systems, substation design, distribution networks, and protection systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with national and international electrical and rail standards (e.g., EN standards, NFPA, Canadian Electrical Code, CSA).
- Experience collaborating with utilities, government authorities, and large project delivery partners.
