Contract Technical Safety Engineer (Outside IR-35) - High Scope Gas Field Development Project, Long term.
HYBRID woking.Our client are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Safety Engineer to join their team. You will play a critical role in a high-scope gas field development project, ensuring the project adheres to the highest safety standards throughout all stages.
About the Project:This is a unique opportunity to be part of a challenging and rewarding gas field development project. You will leverage your expertise to contribute to the safe and successful delivery of this vital project.
About the Role:
- Provide specialist technical safety advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle (feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design, and execution).
- Conduct comprehensive hazard identification, analysis, and risk assessments (HARA) using established methodologies (e.g., FMEA, FTA).
- Develop and implement a robust safety management plan (SMP) aligned with relevant regulations and company standards.
- Review and assess engineering designs, procedures, and work plans from a safety perspective.
- Participate in design reviews (HAZOP, HAZID) and ensure all safety considerations are addressed.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including engineers, designers, and operations personnel, to promote a culture of safety.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports, permits, and risk registers.
- Support with regulatory compliance and interface with relevant authorities as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and procedures.
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Safety Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
- A strong understanding of relevant safety legislation and regulations (e.g., D HSE Regulations).
- Proven experience in conducting HARA studies using recognized methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of safety management systems (SMS) and the ability to develop and implement SMPs.
- Experience in reviewing and assessing engineering designs for safety.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
