Telecom Engineer Specialist

This position has the responsibility to apply an extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in areas related to Telecom business lines. This role includes performance of a range of technical and engineering activities, significant responsibilities, and autonomy.

DUTIES
• Make decisions on engineering problems and methods and represent the department in conferences to resolve important questions and coordinate work
• Actively participate in, and maximize the use of, knowledge management portals and communities and other available resources
• Attend external technical seminars and self-enroll in training courses
• Perform self-check of completed work and provide guidance
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining liaisons with individuals and units within or outside the organization with the responsibility for acting with authority on technical matters pertaining to the particular field
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters

REQUIREMENTS
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study
• Advanced degree or post graduate qualifications are preferred
• Membership in external technical society
• Five (5) years Telecom industry related home office and/or project experience
• Demonstrated interpolative thinking, utilize advanced techniques, modifications, or extensions to practiced theories, and is generally seasoned technically
• Intermediate computer and software skills to
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
• Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels
