Here is an exciting opportunity to join a mega project in beautiful Kitimat, British Columbia as a Tools and Equipment Coordinator! You would be at work within a growing EPCM/construction firm with projects worldwide and joining a team of talented professionals all working towards one goal. This opportunity boasts longevity, and a great work-life balance rotation of 14/7.
In this role, the qualified candidate will be reporting to the Tools and Equipment Manager. Some duties include working with multiple subcontractors, coordinating daily activities with multiple area managers and oversee Tools, Rental Equipment and Rental Equipment Maintenance on the project site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day field work and supervision, preparation of overall plans and ensuring safe work practices are being followed
- Assist with monthly budget tracking, reporting and invoice reviewing for multiple contracts
- Assist in maintaining excel equipment forecasting and tracking sheets
- Track rental equipment orders and on/off rents for equipment through proprietary software program and excel
- Ensure equipment meets application and advise when equipment does not or if other equipment may be better suited for requested application
- Assist with policy updates and writing policies for equipment and tools use on site as other areas as requested
- Assist contractor in coordinating equipment for maintenance with other contractors, ensuring that equipment is serviced in a timely fashion
- Coordinate program providing common cranes for use by JFJV and subcontractors to ensure efficient use of resources and proper maintenance of equipment
- Understand change management concepts and when to enact change management
- Experience with contracts and working within a contract
- Supervise field activities related to daily tasks to ensure proper and timely completion
- Assist with scaffolding tracking and coordination as directed by Tools and Equipment Manager
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of overall construction experience or coordinator/supervisor experience
- Previous large scale Industrial Construction Site experience
- 4+ years relevant experience at a comparable level of responsibility in projects of similar type
- Experience with various types of equipment such as excavators, dozer, loaders to light equipment such as pumps, light towers, AWPs, welding machines as required
- Min. of 2 years in a role with experience in budget tracking, forecasting and scheduling using Excel
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong computer skills in other Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work independently as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent skills in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution
- Demonstrated strong decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Proven ability promoting outstanding customer service and client relations
- CET Certification preferred
- Formal Microsoft Excel certification preferred
- Familiar with Small Tools and Consumables, Contract Tool Accounts as well as common inclusions and exclusions of same
- Must have a proven track record of successful execution of construction/maintenance Projects to include: refineries, oil sands, mining or power
- Experience dealing with multiple contractor and area interfaces
- Ability to think outside the box to achieve end goals and excellent problem resolution and troubleshooting skills
- Able to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and perform under pressure
- Self-motivated, strong organizational skills and judgement
