Job Description
Our client is seeking candidates for the CTA R&P project.
The JV team was selected by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to design and build Phase One of the Red and Purple Line Modernization Program. The $2.1 billion project will be the largest capital project in CTA’s history, ultimately resulting in expanded capacity and improved infrastructure along the region’s most used rail lines.
The project involves building new elevated tracks along a 1.9-mile section in Chicago, including new bridges, support structures and existing tracks. Four of the CTA’s busiest stations will be replaced, and a grade-separated bypass for the Brown Line at Clark Junction will be built, along with the upgrading the signal system.

Responsible for managing System Integration, Testing & Commissioning and System Safety to make sure the installed system performs in accordance with all requirements of the Contract, including schedule coordination between civil and systems teams.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the enablement of technical expertise for systems designs and systems design-build activities, as well as coordinating the development and management of systems engineering activities on behalf of our client.
• Working as part of an integrated project team to deliver a rail system which meets the business requirements established by the client
• Collaborate with design teams and key systems contractors to ensure the design accurately and consistently captures integration, constructability, maintainability, and cost-effective lifecycle solutions across the project corridor
• Helping to offer specialist technical guidance and support to the system integration and interfaces between rail systems and other works
• Coordinating the enablement of technical support to others within the project team to ensure that specialist advice is available as and when required
• Interface directly with Design Managers and Testing and Commissioning Leads to ensure a compliant transit system
• Interface directly with System Safety team to deliver a verified and certified system
• Monitoring contractual commitments to check that work is being performed in accordance with specifications, drawings and terms of contract
Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal eleven (11) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Other Job Requirements • Participate in Fluor University courses for continued learning experiences
• Utilize Knowledge Management processes to capture, support and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project execution
• Support the projects by providing an environment for the development and professional advancement of project personnel, including providing on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities
• Participate in sales and marketing efforts as requested
Preferred Qualifications
• Formal education: Bachelors or equivalent in a recognized engineering discipline
• Strong railway system integration background with knowledge and understanding of the interfaces between different elements that make up a railway system
• Ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions
• The candidate must have developed through his professional experiences the capability of managing Customer and Suppliers relationships
• Very adaptable and able to prioritize in critical and pressure situations
• Excellent Interpersonal skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
• Able to work in autonomy, but self-aware of limits
• Good team working approach and experience of managing the work and performance of a number of direct reports
• Good communication skills and proactivity in coordinating the activities of all parties involved
• Will have demonstrated a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the system integration of rail projects
