A local engineering firm is seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Support Specialist to assist with a large, complex project involving extensive research and reconciliation. This role is critical to resolving outstanding discrepancies across timesheets, general ledger accounts, and accounts payable records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with payroll and accounting data.
Key Responsibilities
Perform deep‑dive research into timesheets, billing entries, and labor allocations.
Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts tied to payroll activity.
Assist with resolving outstanding issues between payroll, AP, and accounting.
Collaborate with internal teams to validate data accuracy and correct discrepancies.
Document findings, prepare reconciliation summaries, and support audit readiness.
Ensure all work meets company compliance standards and project deadlines.
Qualifications
Experience in payroll support, accounting, or GL reconciliation highly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to manage large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy.
Proficiency with timesheet systems, accounting software, or ERP systems is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
