The Cable Package Manager is responsible for the support of the delivery and assurances of the Cables package, design, cable and accessory manufacture, loadouts, components and handover to commissioning in compliance with company standards and country specific Health, Safety and Environment regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Cable Package for procurement, design, planning, manufacture, delivery and execution of the overall Package
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared, utilising the lessons learned data base.
- Review of Contractor documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards, recommended practices, guidelines and industry best practice.
- Manage Marine Warranty Surveyor’s (or other associated marine authority relevant to the country) review of documentation and responsibility for procuring approval’s for the installation works.
- Coordinate installation interfaces with other project packages, contractors and third parties.
- Identification, evaluation and, estimation of project risks with regards to the design, manufacture and installation for the package.
- Review and Preparation of technical reports as required.
- Co-ordinate client activities required for the installation of the works.
- Responsible for the completeness of the pre-sail away check list from contractor (including manufacturing yards)
- Co-ordination of cable and accessory specific risk register, risk meetings, HAZIDs, H&S reviews, CDM design reviews, etc.
- Ensure documentation related to the package is received and processed as required to perform the client responsibilities under the contract, to ensure compliance with the relevant standards, recommended practices, guidelines and best practice.
- Co-ordination with other project teams to progress issues such as, Permitting, UXO clearance, Offshore array cable operations, Offshore operations, marine co-ordination, Site investigations and surveys team, GIS team, Commissioning and O&M
- Reporting as required by the project.
Deliverables:
- Develop the Cable Package through its full lifecycle including procurement, design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and handover as required, safely, to time, quality and to budget
Key Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, or a closely aligned discipline. Significant experience along with other engineering qualifications will also be considered.
- Strong technical skills and significant proven experience in the design, construction, installation, or integrity management of inter-array and/or export cables for offshore wind farms.
- Demonstrable competence and experience of working in a major infrastructure project including:
- Installation of inter-array and export cables in an offshore wind farm
- Preferably a minimum 5 years’ experience in offshore cable installation activities.
- Detail understanding of relevant certification requirements.
- Experience in co-ordination of offshore client reps, MWS and offshore operations.
- Detailed knowledge of cable installation techniques, equipment, vessel management and associated activities.
- Experience in fabrication and installation of grillage/sea fastening.
- Experience in Mock-up tests.
- Experience in cable load-out operations.
