Cables Package Manager

Overview:
The Cable Package Manager is responsible for the support of the delivery and assurances of the Cables packages, cable design, cable and accessory manufacture, cable loadouts, components and handover to commissioning in compliance with company standards and country specific Health, Safety and Environment regulations.
  • Ensure all works within the packages and by those contractors delivering for the packages are carried out safely
  • Lead and manage the Cable Packages (both export and inter-array) across their full lifecycle: procurement, design, planning, manufacture, construction, delivery, installation support, commissioning and handover, to time, quality and budget.
  • Provide package management, including preparation and review of technical reports.
  • Review contractor documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards, recommended practices, guidelines and industry best practice.
  • Manage Marine Warranty Surveyor (and other relevant marine authorities) engagement and approvals for installation works.
  • Coordinate installation interfaces with other project packages, contractors and third parties.
  • Identify, evaluate and manage package risks across design, manufacture and installation, including ownership of cables/accessories risk registers, risk meetings, HAZIDs, H&S and CDM design reviews.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured, recorded and shared using the RWE lessons learned database.
  • Coordinate client activities required for installation and ensure completeness of contractor pre sailaway checklists (including manufacturing yards).
  • Ensure all package documentation is received, processed and managed to fulfil client contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with wider project teams (e.g. Permitting, UXO clearance, offshore and onshore operations and array cables, marine coordination, site investigations and surveys, GIS, Commissioning and O&M).
  • Provide reporting as required by the project.
  • Attend the office for a minimum of 60% of time for face-to-face interactions to deliver the role.

Key Qualifications
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, or a closely aligned discipline. Significant experience along with other engineering qualifications will also be considered.
  • Strong technical skills and significant proven experience in the design, construction, installation, or integrity management of inter-array and/or export cables for offshore wind farms. 
  • Preferably a minimum 8 years’ experience in offshore cable installation activities
  • Detail understanding of relevant certification requirements.
  • Experience in co-ordination of offshore client reps, MWS and offshore operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of cable installation techniques, equipment, vessel management and associated activities.
