CAD Engineering Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled CAD Engineering Technician to join their dynamic team in Calgary, AB. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse and technically challenging projects in geotechnical engineering, including transportation infrastructure, land development, and natural hazard mitigation.

As a CAD Technician, you’ll collaborate closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable mentorship while expanding your technical capabilities across a variety of project types.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings such as site layouts, borehole location maps, and stratigraphic cross-sections.
• Produce accurate and compliant drawings aligned with internal and client standards.
• Support design efforts by performing calculations and drafting construction details for MSE walls, retaining structures, berms, and other earthworks.
• Apply geotechnical design principles to develop high-quality visual documentation.
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback from supervisors and project leads.
• Assist with other drafting and design-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Engineering Technology, CAD certification, or equivalent experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Experience in geotechnical or environmental drafting is an asset.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with tools such as Global Mapper, Surfer, gINT, and Adobe Creative Suite is considered an advantage.
• Adaptability and a proactive approach in a fast-paced setting.
