Civil Engineer

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to work on a diverse project portfolio including major construction projects, thermal generating plant and other emerging technologies. Within the Civil Team you will become involved in the assessment of existing assets across the fleet and provide technical support and guidance covering high consequence civil assets including buildings, chimneys, cooling towers, bunkers, bunds and more. Working closely with the operation teams, you will deliver value and contribute to the overall operational excellence of the business. This will require a practical approach with on-site plant inspection, as well as a strong mind for thorough and detailed analysis of engineering issues with the communication of the results of the assessment to various stakeholders. This will offer the successful candidate quite a unique opportunity to become involved in the full life cycle from conception to decommissioning of large civil infrastructure.
Your Skills & Experience to be successful in this role you will be educated to a minimum of degree level in Civil Engineering and have a comprehensive understanding of legislation, design and operational standards related to civil assets. Chartered or close to sitting your Chartership Professional Review is essential. You will display excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess an innovative mind set, have a flexible approach and have the capacity to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a demanding environment. Although office based you will make frequent site visits and enjoy immense variety that few other company departments could offer due to our unique portfolio of civil assets.
