Major engineering company is seeking a CommSec Engineer with offshore topside engineering experience for a long term contract role to be based in Southwest Houston. Ability to work with and manage subcontractor, Perform/review calculations (such as RF and/or WLAN and/or PA coverage, CCTV data traffic analyses) and telecommunication system schematics and wiring diagrams

Due to Client Requirements, Candidates MUST be a US Citizen and DO NOT HOLD dual Citizenship

• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material estimating, procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Miscellaneous Systems
• Emergency Operations / Reaction Control Center
• Entertainment System
• Process Video Monitoring System
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) & Battery Systems
• Weather Monitoring System
Site Notification Systems
• Personal Paging System
• Public Announcement General Alarm System
• Wide Area Mass Notification System
Radio Frequency (RF) Systems
• Aeronautical Radio
• Cellular Distributed Antenna System
• Collision Avoidance Radar System
• Emergency Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB)
• Microwave
• Navigation Aids (NAVAIDS)
• Ultrahigh Frequency (UHF) Radio

Other Job Requirements
• Works with project personnel to define subsystem scope requirements.
• Works with project personnel to define subsystem business process requirements.
• Assists with development of the Supplier qualification process
• Assists with development of the Supplier selection process
• Develop overall project planning.
• Provide subsystem development and configuration
• Provide subsystem integration with other project components
• Executes assigned Physical Systems in both the Office and Field.
• Provide system checkout, validation and turnover

Preferred Qualifications
• Professional registration and membership in technical society
• Advanced knowledge of industry codes and standards (ANSI, DHLS, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, TIA, USNRC)
• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
• Relevant field experience
• Drafting & Design
• 3D Modeling
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of CAD, word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
