Job Description
TRS are seeking an experienced Construction Manager on behalf of a Project Construction Consultancy company based in Dublin to lead the successful delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing site operations, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated construction professional with proven experience delivering mission-critical facilities and complex technical projects within fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Manage all on-site construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and supply chain partners to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Drive project delivery in line with programme milestones, quality standards, and budget requirements.
- Monitor construction progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate commissioning, testing, and handover activities.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the project.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, client requirements, and company procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews.
- Promote quality assurance processes and ensure works are completed to specification.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary site interface between the client, design consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders.
- Foster collaborative working relationships across all project participants.
- Support client reporting requirements and project governance processes.
Commercial & Risk Management
- Monitor project costs and support commercial teams in managing budgets and change control.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Review contractor performance and support procurement and contract management activities.
- Ensure timely resolution of construction issues and technical challenges.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor site teams to achieve project objectives.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of junior project and construction professionals.
Required Experience
Essential
- Degree qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years' construction management experience on large-scale construction projects.
- Proven track record delivering Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, or High-Tech Facilities projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, and site management processes.
- Extensive experience managing multiple contractors and complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work within challenging project schedules and fast-track environments.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting tools.
Preferred
- Direct experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data centres.
- Experience managing Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) installations within mission-critical environments.
- Professional membership of CIOB, ICE, SCSI, Engineers Ireland, or equivalent.
- Health & Safety qualifications (Safe Pass, IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
- Experience on projects exceeding €100 million in value.
