Our client, a globally leading EPC, seeks an experienced Piping Construction Superintendent to supervise and coordinate field construction activities within the piping scope of a large pharma project in Denmark.
About the Role
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating field construction activities within assigned areas to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.
The role will focus on daily field coordination, contractor supervision, systems completion, interface management, and driving construction progress in line with commissioning priorities.
The Superintendent will work closely with contractor supervisors, QA/QC, planners, E&I, and commissioning teams to ensure work fronts are executed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Field Supervision- Supervise daily construction activities within assigned area
- Monitor contractor productivity, manpower, and work quality
- Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings and procedures
- Identify and resolve field execution issues
- Coordinate interfaces between contractors, suppliers, QA/QC, and commissioning teams
- Ensure work fronts are available and free from constraints
- Support scaffolding, access, and material coordination
- Coordinate construction priorities with commissioning requirements
- Monitor welding and installation quality in the field
- Ensure inspection requests are raised in line with ITP requirements
- Coordinate repair activities and punch closure
- Support implementation of approved repair procedures
- Drive completion of systems and subsystem turnover activities
- Support MC walkdowns, SAT readiness, and punch closeout
- Ensure construction completion aligns with commissioning sequence
- Promote strong safety culture within field teams
- Ensure compliance with site HSE procedures
- Participate in toolbox talks, audits, and safety observations
- Intervene immediately where unsafe acts or conditions are identified
- Provide daily progress and issue reporting
- Escalate constraints and risks proactively
- Support reporting of manpower, productivity, and material status
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 - 15 years’ experience in industrial construction supervision
- Strong mechanical/piping construction background
- Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or process industries preferred
- Experience working in recovery or fast-track project environments
- Strong understanding of commissioning and systems completion
