Our client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contracts Administrator (Junior Quantity Surveyor) to join their dynamic, growing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the overall project delivery in accordance with Company, Client and industry requirements. This position is based in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation and management of contracts and contractual documents.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience with NEC and FIDIC standard forms of contracts.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates, budgets, for construction projects
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Maintaining accurate and organized contract records and documentation
- Preparing and issuing progress reports and payment certificates.
- Assisting in handling contract variations, extensions, and claims.
- Assisting in the valuation of completed work for interim and final payments.
- Supports the preparation of tender documentation, adjudication processes, and bid evaluations.
- Reviewing and validating contractor and subcontractor invoices and claims.
- Ensures all contractual and commercial activities are conducted ethically and in ine with company values and industry best practices.
- Assists in the development and implementation of procedures and standards related to contract administration and commercial management.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying (minimum) or related.
- 3-5 years proven contracts administration experience in construction/mining.
- Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contract forms.
- Preparation and management of contracts, budgets, cost estimates, and payment certificates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage contract documentation, including variations, site instructions, and claims.
- Understanding of tendering and contract law practices.
- Experience validating invoices and handling contract claims and extensions.
