Design Coordinator (Nuclear power plant)

Design Coordinator – Turquía – 12-24 meses.

The Design Coordinator is the responsible of leading managing all the project design activities in all of its aspects: technical, quality, cost, and schedule. He/She is responsible for the Coordination of design works with the General Designer and Designers.

He/She is in charge of a design team composed by different specialist (piping, stress analysis, civil, electrical...) of each discipline with the aim to develop the physical layout of the plant (civil and structural drawings, layout drawings, piping isometrics and supports, electrical cableways...). All of this job is based on the implementation of full-integrated 3D design systems.

He/She asses the need of resources and distributes the tasks amongst the different people in order develop the different project activities and to meet the design project schedule

He/She is also responsible to assure that all design activities are developed according to the technical requirement stated in the contract and to the internal quality procedures and practices.

The Design Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing and comment on the design works received from Designers with possible further optimization and savings as well as constructability and ease of construction and installation

One of the functions of the Design Coordinator is provide technical support in the preparation of the Method Statements (PPR’s).

Technically wise, he is the responsible of defining the plant/buildings general arrangement. For that purpose, he collects the requirements from all disciplines (process equipment, civil, electrical, etc.) in order to define the different areas in terms of plant layout. Whit this as starting point, the different disciplines performs the physical design assisted by 3D Model design systems
