Brief Description
• Responsible for electrical design for assigned projects.
• Responsible for producing all electrical design documents on a project.
• An electrical engineer supports the lead Electrical Engineer on the project and as the technical interface with AP project execution teams. The primary purpose is the delivery of a safe, fit for purpose electrical design to an agreed schedule and construction budget.
• Providing support to other AP engineering centers as workload requires.
• Accountable for the safety and engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
• Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities.
• Generate documents like Single Line diagrams, Power layouts, lighting layouts, earthing layouts, tray layouts, cable schedules, JB Schedules, motor schematics, Hazardous area layouts, MTOs, Electrical room layouts etc.
• Specifying and purchasing key electrical equipment such as medium and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers, transformers, VFD’s, UPS systems, DC systems, etc. Responsibilities include writing purchase specifications, evaluating quotations, performing technical bid evaluations, vendor document review, and factory acceptance testing.
• Specifying large induction and synchronous motors and starting systems including reduced voltage autotransformers, reactor start, electronic soft-start/VFD, etc.
• Support to Machinery Package team to specif, interface and review electrical system for the package items.
• Experience of producing interconnection diagram.
• Experience / Exposure of using global engineering standards
• Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model review meetings
