Electrical Design Lead

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Lead role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC.


Job Description:
- Prepare layouts and conceptual designs for large mineral processing facilities
- Supervise electrical design team and direct/interface design teams in global execution centres
- Interface with other design disciplines
- Design of electrical systems including grounding, lighting, and cable tray
- Design electrical rooms to meet code requirements
- Check electrical drawings
- Squad check vendor and other disciplines’ drawings
- Prepare estimates, schedules, and material forecasts
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other designers

Job Requirements:
- Two year technical diploma
- Twenty to twenty-five years experience in heavy industry electrical design
- Experience on medium to large EPC projects
- Experience on mineral processing projects (preferred)
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrate increasing level of responsibility and have a proven record of leading design teams in an EPC environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Knowledge of CEC and/or NEC
- Experience with SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant 3D is an asset
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
-This role could also work for a P.Eng who has more in-depth experience working as a Design Lead as opposed to a Design Engineer.
