Engineer III, Senior Mechanical System Reliability

● Champion the integrity of unique approaches to roof covering systems and Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) components regarding long-term wind, rain, and fire resistance
● Develop test and evaluation processes for roof covering systems, polymeric components, fasteners, adhesives, and electrical components.
● Plan and execute laboratory and field tests to evaluate product readiness for certification, technical requirements, and warranty goals
● Analyze and report test data, results, observations, conclusions, and recommendations to R&D team leaders, engineers, and stakeholders
● Achieve expert level knowledge of the company’s roof systems in detail, including design and installation
● Work with the Field Performance Test team to optimize the scope and value of test plans
● Drive a culture of continuous improvement by characterizing and optimizing existing products
● Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other teams on creating and evaluating new designs. Communicate test progress to management and R&D teams
● Design and procure test equipment for mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems
● Think of creative new designs, features, and tools for product improvement and report on measured product reliability performance in the field and in the lab
● Manage test resources to ensure testing activities are supported according to schedule (technicians, chambers, power supplies, tools, space)
● Track open test incidents and work with design and reliability engineers for corrective action resolutions of issues identified during testing and in the field
