Job Description:
Engineering Manager – Electrical Design responsible for validating GFC drawings and preparing shop drawing ensuring compliance with project specifications for Underground Metro projects. Reviews and submits material submittals for all electrical systems in line with approved standards and project requirements.
Role Overview:
Shall be responsible for coordination and obtaining approval of all design drawings, and for preparation and control of the Design BOQ until project completion.
Key responsibilities:
- Validate GFC drawings and preparing shop drawing of Low voltage electrical and Fire alarm to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with BIM team to provide technical inputs for preparation and submission of shop drawings.
- Review and submit material submittals for all electrical systems and fire alarm system as per approved specifications.
- Prepare Design BOQ based on approved drawings and actual site requirements.
- Value addition to the Design and optimize project cost.
- Prepare and submit documents for EIG approvals.
- Prepare design calculations including cable sizing, cable schedule, lux level calculations, etc.
- Issue manufacturing clearance based on approved drawings and actual design quantities.
- Coordinate with interface teams to resolve design interfaces and technical issues.
- Support the site team during execution and make sure the design works as intended and meets project requirements for performance and safety.
- Preparation of As-built drawing, Asset Management, preparation of O&M Manual for handing over the project.
Required Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical Engineering with 8+ years of total experience, including a minimum of 4 years of relevant design experience in Underground Metro.
