Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead internal reviews of environmental designs and mitigation plans.
- Collaborate on environmental quality management systems.
- Maintain relationships with environmental authorities and stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
- Serve as the primary contact for environmental management with clients.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet project environmental requirements.
- Direct the environmental program and audit processes.
- Engage with Indigenous groups on environmental and archaeological preservation.
- Prepare and submit required plans and reports under the CEMP framework.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards and agreements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of combined education and experience in environmental compliance management.
- Certified Environmental Professional as per provincial standards.
- Minimum of 10 years in senior management roles overseeing major projects, including urban and rural transit construction.
- Skilled in developing, monitoring, and auditing environmental practices.
- Proficient in erosion and sediment control measures.
- Proven experience with federal and provincial permit applications.
- Effective in coordinating team efforts to achieve objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental and waste regulations and industry standards.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
