Role Summary
The Field Engineer supports site construction execution by coordinating technical, field, and administrative activities to ensure work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements, drawings, specifications, and Operating System Requirements (OSR/OSIP). The role bridges Engineering and Construction and supports productivity, quality, and schedule performance in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Support field construction activities by interpreting drawings, specifications, work packs, and technical queries
- Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, Materials, and Project Controls to ensure workface readiness
- Assist with work planning, sequencing, and constructability reviews
- Track field progress, quantities, and productivity; support schedule updates and reporting
- Manage RFIs, field changes, redlines, and as‑built documentation
- Support quality inspections, punch list resolution, and turnover documentation
- Participate in safety activities including job risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident prevention initiatives
- Ensure compliance with OSR/OSIP, HSE requirements, and project procedures
Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field execution practices
- Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and interfaces in an active construction environment
- Solid communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in basic project controls, reporting, and document management tools
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or Construction Management
- 5+ years of experience in construction or field engineering (level dependent)
- Prior EPC/EPCM or major capital project experience preferred
- Site‑based experience on industrial, infrastructure, mining, power, or energy projects desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours as required to support construction activities
