A leading Engineering Procurement Construction company are recruiting for a Field Materials Manager to work on an Oil&Gas project on site in Royston.

This position serves as a Field Material Manager on medium- to large-sized Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) projects.  
 
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities  
• Provide technical and administrative direction related to the established Company, Material Management, and/or project policies and procedures  
• Responsible for the implementation, management, and monitoring of the Material Management Work Process with the approved Corporate Reference Tool for Material Management to meet project requirements and schedule  
• Plan, organize, direct, and control the material management discipline or global indirect function execution  
• Advocate the use of the Material Management knowledge management portals and communities  
• Maintain effective client relationships through client service excellence in execution  
• Prepare and issue relevant Material Management reports  
• Review, analyze, produce commercial bid tabs, and negotiate Terms and Conditions, based on Prime Contract flow downs  
• Maintain the highest ethical standards of Material Management professional responsibility  
Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities, and timely performance feedback  
• Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business lines, functions, and locations  
• Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action  
• Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines  
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards  
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job  
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters  
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality  
• Other duties as assigned  
 
 Other Job Duties & Responsibilities  
Field Material Management  
• Review and action planning reports to appropriate persons for follow-up to support Fabrication or Construction 
• Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner and, if supervising others, has responsibility for their safety and ensures that they comply with established safety policies and procedures and use safe work habits 
• Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities, and timely performance feedback 
• Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business lines, functions, and locations 
• Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action 
• Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines 
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards 
• Adhere to and support the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental 
• High coordination with the company’s Project Management and Client representatives 
• Responsible for applicable project reporting requirements related to field material management activities 
• Accountable for job site material functions including field expediting, material planning and control, receiving, storage and issuing of materials, and the purchase of specified bulk items 
• Responsible for handling of hazardous and toxic materials, outbound shipments, construction equipment control, tool and supply controls, and disposal of surplus and scrap 
• Develop a well-defined and integrated Site Material Management Plan in support of construction 
• Establish field materials manpower (staff and craft) requirements and schedule in organizational chart format 
• Review the prime project contract and develop the material handling budget 
• Establish informational flows among various stakeholders: Construction, Procurement, Engineering, Project Controls, Accounts Payable 
• Develop field material management procedures 
• Develop a Master Storage Plan ensuring facilities are planned according to material volumes and requirements; take into account the supplier’s/manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure warranty requirements 
• Develop warehouse and lay down yard construction equipment plan 
• Full time presence at the project site is required through duration of project 
 
Minimum Qualifications 
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years if non-degreed  
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders  
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job  
• Prior experience including proficient use in proprietary Material Management system 
• Experience in EPCM industry with capital projects  
• Lump Sum and Module Fabrication experience preferred  
• Experience in dealing with global vendors (outside US) 
• Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)  
• Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)  
• Experience should be primarily in the area of material management 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  
• Excellent computer literacy and skills  
• Good leadership and decision-making skills
