Client is looking for QA/QC Lead
Project Type: Brownfield | EPC | PMC | Petrochemical Plant | Turnaround (TA) | Furnaces
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
Requirements/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
- 13+ years of experience in fire protection engineering within ethylene/petrochemical plants
- Prior Saudi Arabia project experience is a MUST
- Proven expertise in brownfield projects, furnace fire safety systems, and equipment modifications
- Strong knowledge of NFPA, API, Saudi Aramco standards, and local civil defense regulations
- Experience with firewater systems, hydrants, sprinklers, foam systems, deluge systems, and gas detection
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications, fireproofing, and emergency shutdown (ESD) integration
- Hands-on experience with turnaround (TA) planning/execution for fire protection systems
- Proficiency in fire risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID, and escape route planning
Responsibilities:
- Design and review fire protection systems for brownfield EPC/PMC projects in operating petrochemical plants
- Ensure fire safety compliance for furnace installations, including:
- Fireproofing of structural steel and critical equipment
- Furnace burner management system integration with ESD
- Develop and implement firewater network upgrades, including pumps, hydrants, monitors, and deluge systems
- Prepare engineering deliverables: fire protection layouts, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, equipment datasheets, and installation details
- Conduct fire risk assessments and ensure compliance with NFPA, API, and Saudi regulations
- Oversee installation, inspection, and testing of fire protection systems during TA and commissioning
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and HSE teams for integrated safety solutions
- Provide technical support during emergencies, drills, and audits
- Manage vendor interfaces, FAT/SAT, and ensure QA/QC compliance for fire protection equipment
- Ensure escape route planning, emergency lighting, and alarm systems are functional and compliant
