Foam Process Technician

TRS Staffing is seeking a Foam Process Technician with one of the world’s leading chemical manufacturers. This is a contract opportunity located in Pittsfield, MA.

Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities):
• Manufacture/extrude foam products.
• Safely and efficiently start up, operate & shut down all production equipment.
• Test and maintain specified quality of foam products.
• Convert foam boards into various thickness utilizing band saw.
• Finish products; confirm quality, label, package and ship orders to customers.
• Maintain & upgrade equipment (investigate, trouble shoot, repair & resolve issues).
• Update, maintain and troubleshoot production processes, documentation of operating procedures and quality systems.
• Organize manufacturing raw materials, intermediate products, and supplies.
• Document production & development activities.
• Led operators on extrusion foam process to ensure products meet all established volume and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent or technical training.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with thermoplastic foam extrusion and plastics processing equipment.
• Mechanical background for equipment; hands-on.
• Flexible work schedule is required; including OT. Job schedule is typically days but must be able to work evening or overnight shifts for certain production schedules.
• Proficient in the use of computers for equipment control, data entry, documentation.
• Demonstrated math skills and basic statistics for data analysis.
• Proactive, self-directed , motivated and driven.
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, execute and prioritize.
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve & determine root cause.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Desired Qualifications:
• Experienced in extrusion of foam product/process development and/or manufacturing.
