We require a Construction Engineer in the Newcastle area. This role will be responsible for providing oversight and leadership to our contingent of Construction Engineers across two sites. As the construction engineer you will be responsible for coordinating constructability reviews with the designer and site teams, have ownership of the development of our construction work packages in line with the project programme, and for our temporary works scopes and the temporary works procedures. Ideally a civils/mechanical background, but familiarity with electrical beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
    • Act as the primary liaison with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams involved in the project.
    • Coordinate and supervise contractors, ensuring quality standards are met and safety regulations are strictly adhered to.
    • Develop and implement construction schedules, logistics plans, and resource allocation strategies.
    • Identify potential challenges, evaluate solutions, and make recommendations to ensure smooth project delivery.
    • Manage project finances, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
    • Prepare and present progress reports, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
    • Support business development initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of future projects.
    • Foster a collaborative work environment, mentoring and guiding team members to achieve project goals.
Skills, Experience & Education:
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including management, contractors, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex construction projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
    • Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
    • Proficiency in construction planning and project management tools.
    • Strong understanding of construction processes, regulations, and compliance standards.
    • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring seamless collaboration across various functions.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites and other locations as needed.

Other Job Requirements:
 
    • Previous experience in successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and the ability to navigate industry standards.
    • Strong networking capabilities and understanding of client cultures.
    • Background checks will be conducted as part of any conditional offer, which may include education, professional registration, employment history, references, and other verifications.
Location: County Durham.
