In this role, the qualified candidate will report to the Senior Regulatory Manager and will be responsible for developing government relations strategies at Municipal, Provincial and Federal levels. The position will also require the successful candidate to support government-relations activities by enhancing positive relationships with senior civil servants to strengthen understanding of the clients projects and industry.
Job Duties:
• Proactively maintains effective connections with important internal stakeholders from across the organization
• Monitor appearing matters connected to the legislative aspects of client’s projects
• Supply leadership and calculated advice to teams with consideration of matters related to Government Relations
• Observes related plans and regulatory affairs at the federal, provincial and municipal level, and give strategic information and analysis for advocacy
• Facilitates the continuation of engagement records and commitment registers
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of applicable experience in government relations/public affairs with 4 – 6 years at a comparable responsibility level
• Working knowledge of natural resource sector including approval processes for major projects, preferably oil and gas focused
• Understanding of project processes and technical information including engineering and environmental information
• Strong computer program skills with Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional organization skills, ability to manage, track and record multiple tasks and a heavy workload
