TRS Staffing Solutions have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Process Engineer with a background or knowledge of hydrogen plants and systems. Join a growing international engineering team with a goal of decarbonising the global economy!
We are seeking a Chemical Engineering Graduate to help in growing capabilities on clean energy in the following fields:
• Design of hydrogen plants (green and blue)
• Design of hydrogen compression, storage and systems at users’ locations
• Design of CCUS systems
• Design of power-to-X plants
• Support in design management for solar PV facilities
• Support in design management for wind farms
The activities associated with the role are as follows:
• Works under the supervision the Clean Energy Head Consultant and with other people in senior leadership and management position within the company
• Act a as a scribe for HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, SAFOP and other workshops associated to clean energy plants
• Perform preparatory activities as part of safety studies development (e.g., inventories mark-ups and stream simplification)
• Help in identifying knowledge gaps for clean energy processes and defining future actions
• Develop specific presentations for clients on hydrogen compression, transport and industrial uses
• Prepare graphical images and schematics for potential applications
• Identify and keep a database of external consultants and companies for each activity to work with as needed
• Review relevant scientific literature in the field and identify possibility for expanding engineering consultancy capabilities
• Identify list of equipment which are required by each technology – from in house information plus literature review
• Review what information is available on the web for each supplier and identify gaps, prepare request to the suppliers to collect missing data, review supplier responses and ask further questions if needed
• Organise available data in a structured manner
• Identify and assess emerging technology and knowledge gaps for future development
• Review emergent technologies for hydrogen production, CCUS and keeping general knowledge for floating wind turbines and floating solar PV
• Help the Clean Energy Head Consultant to establish relationship with new/ perspective clients
• Help preparing proposals and marketing materials for clean energy projects
• Assist in business development on clean energy
• Contribute to the preparation of qualification documents and bids
• Develop basic process design documents for green and blue hydrogen plants
• Work with senior project engineers to capture their expertise
• Develop engineering procedures and work methods for clean energy
• Develop towards a long-term role as the Main Process Specialist
Required Skills & Qualities
• The candidate will have a MSc. Or BSc. degree in chemical engineering (being a chartered engineer would be a plus). Ideally, candidates will have a second degree in Process Engineering, specific experience as a process engineer in hydrogen production, distribution and use
• Specific interest and understanding of clean energy and the role of hydrogen in the energy transition
• Numerically capable and proficient simulation skills
• Knowledge of main process modelling software (e.g. Aspen HYSIS or Unisim)
• Good analytical skills
• Good IT skills. Excellent knowledge of MS office and in particular MS excel
• Willingness to occasionally travel to international locations as part of a project
Desired Skills
• Able to use software for drafting PFDs and P&IDs (autocad, Smartplant P&ID)
• Knowledge of Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) packages for process modelling would be a plus
• Ability to prepare professional graphics for presentations
• Technical and commercial knowledge of hydrogen plants and renewable energy installations (offshore and onshore wind farms, solar PV plants and battery storage)
• Fluency in a second language both in written and oral communications
• Specific courses / academic assignments on renewable projects or energy transition projects
• Data management skills
Experience
• Specific university assignments or courses on hydrogen (better if produced through electrolysis) _ and/or renewable energy installations

• Excellent team player with can do attitude
