Health & Safety Coordinator

Our client, a leading Infrastructure Construction company with projects worldwide, is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team in Richmond, BC.

Here is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company in an exciting industry. The HSE Coordinator plans, organizes, manages, controls, and evaluates all HSE activities for the Richmond Office and projects.

Responsible to perform the COR maintenance audits in BC and Alberta. Makes sure all local actions conform to the OHSAS18001 and ISO programs.

Responsibilities:
- Help to oversee Health, Safety & Environmental matters on all projects in Western Canada;
- Liaison between the Project HSE Managers and the Corporate HSE Department;
- Assist with the maintenance and continual improvement of the Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems in place;
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation;
- Conduct site inspections, audits and ensuring all non-conformances are resolved;
- Be the direct resource for Project Directors regarding safety matters;

Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years experience in safety;
- COR Lead Auditor to perform internal audits in BC, and possible Alberta;
- Thorough knowledge of HSE for Heavy Civil construction (road, rail, bridges, tunnels, ports, etc);
- Strong incident investigation experience;
- In depth knowledge of COR (Lead Auditor) and construction regulations;
- Construction Safety experience is a must;
- Professional designation is preferred;
- Able to travel to other site locations is required;
- Bilingual French/English is an asset;
