Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs and policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, risk assessment, and incident prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and proper equipment use.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Participate in safety audits and support external inspections.
• Recommend improvements to minimize hazards and reduce risk.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in [industry, e.g., manufacturing, construction, healthcare].
• Certification such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30/40-hour training is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Working Conditions:

• May require occasional travel to different sites or facilities.
• Must be able to work in various environments including office, warehouse, and field settings.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
