Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer with a proven background in Data Centre cooling operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing all HVAC and cooling infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime, energy efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems including CRAC/CRAH units, Chillers, PAC units, VRV/VRF systems, AHUs, FCUs, and Cooling Towers.
- Monitor and manage temperature and humidity levels within the data centre to meet ASHRAE standards.
- Operate and maintain chilled water systems, DX systems, pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers.
- Conduct real-time monitoring of cooling systems using BMS (Building Management System) & EMS.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Perform root cause analyses (RCA) for any cooling-related incidents.
- Optimize airflow management (hot aisle/cold aisle containment).
- Recommend improvements for energy efficiency and cost reduction.
- Support capacity planning for expanding loads and future cooling requirements.
- Maintain documentation for SOPs, checklists, and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards including ASHRAE, ISO, TIA-942.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and internal quality checks.
Required Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, with at least 3+ years in Data Centre environments.
- Strong knowledge of CRAC/CRAH, DX Cooling, Chillers, VRV/VRF, and precision cooling systems.
- Experience with BMS/EMS platforms.
- Ability to read HVAC layouts, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
