TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Junior/Intermediate Civil Designer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a long term contract position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.
Salary Range: $40-60/hour
Responsibilities:
- Create 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings with moderate complexity.
- Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation from various disciplines to ensure compliance with project requirements, actively resolving discrepancies.
- Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
- Adhere to industry codes, standards, and department procedures.
- Fulfill other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of combined education and directly related experience.
- 5-10 years of experience using CAD software like Microstation and in Civil CAD modeling using tools like Inroads.
- Accredited one (1) or two (2) year degree or diploma in civil engineering drafting and technology or equivalent in a technical field.
- Effective communication skills with diverse audiences, including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job-related technical knowledge.
- Ability to understand and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and efficient time management.
- Demonstrated expertise in civil site grading, cut and fill, underground utilities, and water management catchment systems (storm and sanitary).
- Familiarity with commercial material availability and costs.
- Proficiency in word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.
