Our client, a world leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Labor Relations Analyst to join their team in Memphis, TN.

The Labor Relations function is responsible for assisting operational leadership with maintaining and improving operational efficiencies in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, while promoting a positive working relationship with the union and Industrial Worker workforce. In this position, you will be responsible for the daily management of bargaining unit employee attendance, including the administration of the Attendance Policy and its associated processes.

Scope & Influence
  • This position reports to the Manager, Labor Relations.
  • You must be available to support non-first shift operations as required.
  • You will be responsible for critically evaluating complex data and processes, identifying patterns and discrepancies, and ensuring absolute accuracy at every step. This role demands precision-driving thinking, methodical problem breakdown, rigorous cross-checking, critically evaluating complex data and processes, identifying patterns and discrepancies for consistent administration of the Attendance Policy, as well as related collective bargaining agreement provisions, policies, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Maintain current attendance records for each bargaining unit employee.
  • Verify quality and accuracy of attendance records, utilizing multiple date sources as input (e.g. leave records, Workers’ Compensation records, SAP, etc...)
  • Maintain an accurate master attendance file.
  • Generate and provide attendance disciplines to Supervisors for their bargaining unit team members,
  • Maintain attendance discipline log.
  • Provide regular attendance reporting as required.
  • Work closely with union representatives to maintain a strong and effective relationship.
  • Provide attendance process training as necessary.
  • Participate in grievance meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with other Labor Relations and People & Culture professionals as necessary.
  • Work on continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • BA/BS degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • 1 year of experience working with data, reporting, and/or information systems.
  • Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferred
  • Experience working in a unionized environment with labor contract interpretation responsibilities preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, striving towards operational excellence.

Necessary Technical Functional Language Skills
  • As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Analytical Reasoning & Critical Thinking — The ability to examine complex information, detect patterns or anomalies, and make informed, data-driven decisions.
