Scope:
This position serves as a Lead Engineer on assigned projects or performs complex to difficult engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies advanced engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments. Responsible for electrical engineering design and project delivery for mining projects and metals and mineral processing projects
Knowledge/Qualification:
- Extensive mining study/execution project experience
- Accredited four (4) year degree (Electrical)
- Professional Registration with ECSA
- Substations and transformers
- High voltage distribution
- Motor control centers and switchboards
- Variable speed drives
- Control and instrumentation
- Earthing
- Lighting and small power
- Writing of technical specifications and design criteria.
- Design work regarding the distribution network of mines from High Voltage/ Medium Voltage Switchyards and downstream.
- Taking projects through from Feasibility Study stage, compilation of budgets and scope and taking it through into execution and commissioning up to handover to the client teams.
- Contract and project management
Work experience
- Minimum 8 years™ experience as a Lead Engineer in an EPCM mining environment.
- Minimum 10 years™ experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of mining projects / equipment
