For our client (owner), we are looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager (staff) for their European plants.

The Supply Chain team provides a comprehensive range of engineering services and solutions to support more than 150 Air assets across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. This includes owned plants and those designed and constructed for customers. 

The Team
The European Maintenance Manager is a member of Projects, Maintenance and Materials Management leadership team and is accountable and responsible for managing the Maintenance function and ensuring the organisation achieves and improves plant reliability, maintenance compliance and maintenance cost control in support of the business in Europe and Africa.

As the European Maintenance Manager, you will…
- Be responsible offsetting processes and procedures and working with the Maintenance Managers in the Sub Regions and the Operations and Business management teams to improve the overall maintenance performance. This includes improving execution efficiency, developing effective maintenance tools and methodologies, and developing a talent pipeline.
- Drive consistency throughout the Maintenance organization, resulting in plant reliability improvements and a decrease in maintenance spending.
- Manage the European Workshop and the cost, schedule, and quality of the repairs.
- Own and develop Maintenance function in region, perform regular reviews and improvement of maintenance procedures, PM frequency, systems, and tools.
- Own and integrate industry best practice and external benchmarking to develop strategic approach to maintenance to drive year on year improvement versus compliance targets, reduce costs and increase plant reliability.
- Lead and provide oversight of maintenance cost performance and preventable maintenance compliance for the region, working with the Sub region Maintenance Manager on targeted improvement actions.
- Lead together with the Maintenance Cost Controller and Sub Region Maintenance Managers to prepare the Europe and Africa annual Maintenance budget. Track performance through the year and support Sub regions with changes caused by unplanned maintenance and changes to shutdown schedules through regular reforecasting of costs.
- Develop, lead and drive strong working relationship with the Sub Regional teams, in particular the Maintenance Managers, Operations Managers and Plant Managers to support maintenance activities and develop and deploy maintenance improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce costs.

The annual OPEX Maintenance Budget is (approx.) - $65MM

Requested:
- 15+ years Maintenance Manager experience on larger process plants, including managing (and developing) a team and responsibility for budget and performance to plan.
- A degree in engineering or related field is required.
- Leadership in safety, building a strong safety culture and demonstrating commitment through actions.
- A strong proven track record of successfully planning and delivering process plant maintenance and Turnaround projects, including brownfield, safely on budget, to schedule and at the required quality.
- Experience of working on Seveso/COMAH sites and knowledge of working with hazardous products and in hazardous areas.
- Broad general technical knowledge and principles, i.e., Process, Machinery, Electrical, PICS. Seasoned professional, technically astute.
- Proactive approach to change and a structured approach to change management within projects.
- Strong commercial and finance knowledge, data driven decision making.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal to support multiple interfaces (internal and external) and interaction across a matrix organisation.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizing and coordinating skills and a structured approach.
- Highly experienced of coaching and developing teams.
- An EU passport for (easy) business travels and project meetings across the region.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain and Operations engineering.
