Key Responsibilities
Engineering Delivery & Technical Oversight
- Provide expert input into conformity assessments, safety case support, and inspection activities across a range of high-assurance engineering projects.
- Develop and approve technical procedures, specifications, and inspection methodologies in line with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Contribute to the development of project execution plans and quality documentation to ensure consistent and compliant delivery.
- Ensure engineering activities meet applicable quality and accreditation standards.
Manufacturing & Welding Expertise
- Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing techniques, welding processes, and pressure systems to support project execution in highly regulated environments.
- Lead the development and review of welding procedures and inspection strategies in line with relevant codes and best practices.
- Define and implement standardised inspection and verification processes to ensure quality and safety.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Serve as a key technical liaison between internal teams, clients, and manufacturing partners to align expectations and deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the project lifecycle.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to integrate engineering, quality, and safety requirements effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and manufacturing functions.
- Support audits, inspections, and technical reviews to uphold project quality and performance.
- Ensure all project activities are delivered within defined scope, schedule, and cost parameters.
Skills, Experience & Education
Essential:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a regulated industry (e.g., energy, defence, or other high-integrity sectors).
- Strong expertise in welding, inspection, and pressure systems.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical writing skills.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality systems in safety-critical environments.
Desirable:
- Experience in projects involving long-term asset integrity, decommissioning, or complex infrastructure.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
- Familiarity with NDT, design verification, and safety case development.
