Truck loader/unloader - $17.50/hr
Mon - Fri 10am until 7/8pm
Emulsion Plant Operator I
Entry-level operator, responsible for assisting with the manufacturing, loading or unloading of chemicals, emulsified asphalt and binder products.
Essential Job Functions
* Loading and unloading of chemicals, emulsified asphalt, binder trucks, tack pots, spreader trucks and railcars;
* Basic housekeeping duties (cleaning up litter, spilled products, office, bathroom etc.);
* Sweeping building interiors;
* Proper tool cleaning and storage;
* Participation with safety meetings;
* Working as a team;
* Basic written recordkeeping; and
* Adherence to all environmental, health and safety rules, policies and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English;
* Ability to utilize a calculator for basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division);
* Ability to acquire OSHA 10-hour safety training certificate;
* Ability to acquire Lockout/ Tagout certificate;
* Ability to acquire Confined space training certificate;
* Knowledge of basic hand and power tools;
* Ability to learn and put in action 5S principals;
* Ability to self-start, motivate others, work with little direction;
* Ability to work in a dirty and adverse work conditions;
* Ability to conduct the necessary weekend checks of the plant on a rotating basis;
* Ability to Observes gauges, dials, and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications;
* Ability to acquire a license for Forklift Operation; and
* Ability to advance to level II operator, maximum of 1 years' time.
Required Education, Experience and Licensing
* High School diploma or equivalent;
* Current state automobile driver's license and a reliable vehicle, potentially for work-related travel.
Physical Demands
* Ability to lift and carry greater than 50 pounds;
* Ability to climb (ladder) and comfortably work at heights of approximately 15 feet or higher;
* Ability to work in adverse weather conditions with appropriate weather protective gear;
* Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery;
* On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and boiler room
* Willingness and ability to work long shifts beginning or ending at any time of day; and
* Adaptable and flexible to work varying weekdays, weekends and shift work.
Work Environment
* Fast-paced and potentially stressful working conditions;
* Predominately outdoor work with limited shade and protection from the elements;
* Work in a dirty environment on unimproved (dirt) work surfaces with exposure to petroleum products.
