TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handling Design Lead role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time permanent position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead designers in producing 2D CAD drawings of moderate complexity.
- Integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into designs.
- Engage in model reviews using a 3D review platform and develop 3D models of moderate complexity.
- Generate estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports.
- Supervise assigned projects, lead and support designers in creating 3D layouts or 2D drawings of moderate complexity.
- Examine vendor equipment documentation of basic complexity within the discipline and across other disciplines for project compliance, and actively resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to project drawing standards for 3D layouts and design drawings.
Qualifications:
- Accredited two-year degree or equivalent, plus 15 years of relevant experience.
- Background in the mining industry is a must.
- At least 10 years of leadership experience.
- Basic knowledge of Microstation, Intergraph SmartPlant Review, and 3D modeling software (Intergraph SP3D).
- Advanced knowledge of 2D CAD systems and procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of 3D CAD systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of mining material handling equipment: crushers, conveyors, screens, and loading/unloading systems.
- Intermediate skills in word processing, email, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Effective communication skills with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
- Experience in preparing equipment, outline drawings and layouts.
