We are seeking a Material Planning Specialist as a direct hire addition to our client’s team in Greenville, SC. The Material Planning Specialist is responsible for keeping production flowing smoothly with the needed materials. This ensures a steady supply of products to customers. The Material Planning Specialist creates and maintain an inventory schedule by watching trends and customer demands to make sure there are always enough products and manufacturing materials. Additionally, the person in this role organizes and schedules deliveries to customers and manages relationships with suppliers. Handling customer complaints involving supply and delivery will also be part of this job. May also be responsible for production planning when needed.
Responsibilities:
Manage inventory levels, material flow, and logistics among suppliers, plants and customers to achieve targeted delivery lead times while minimizing working capital investment.
Schedule materials through the production cycle to assure high on-time delivery performance
Focuses on customers; establishing effective customer relationships and aligning personal and organizational efforts to exceed customer expectations.
Identify material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
Work with Accounting to ensure proper financial tracking and to correct any invoice, receiving, and pricing discrepancies
Collaborate with Quality to process all Return Material Authorizations and suspect materials
Ensures compliance with ISO, OHSAS, IATF and other applicable internal and external audits
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
Korean language skills required
Must be authorized to work in the United States or have the ability to obtain authorization, will consider sponsorship for someone already in the US.
A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is beneficial.
Must have at least 6 months experience working in a warehouse environment. Prior experience working in a distribution environment is preferred
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and an established ERP system
Experience with MRP, Shop Floor Management, Inventory control, and/or other related systems.
Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing
Experience with SAGE/MAS 100, Scanco Warehouse, EDI, or other advanced data analytics tools beneficial.
Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with team members, management, customers, and other employees of the organization
