Job Summary:
  • Ensuring that all mechanical-related work adheres to specified high-quality standards, at minimized costs, and within scheduled repair timelines.
  • Maintains recognized working practices and Quality Control Systems in line with the company’s Quality System Manual.
  • Ensures safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Ensures an acceptable standard of Quality, Environmental, OHSAS, and Security Management System maintained in line with recognized working practices and the company’s QEHS&S Manual and Policy.
  • Executes and applies the requirements of ISO-28000 (E), ISO-20858 (E), ISO 27001, ISPS, and caters to the job-specific and Security Management System for the supply chain and information security management system.

Responsibilities:
  • Holds daily meeting with his Section Heads and Supervisors to check the progress of work, provide technical advice and decide job priorities.
  • Provides technical feasibility of tasks for tender submission to the Commercial Division related to ship owners.
  • Discusses with Projects Managers (Ship Repair) and Project Managers (Rig Repair) and Superintendents methods of work and priorities.
  • Regularly visits/inspects workshops, ships and Yard installations to check the progress of on-going jobs and give technical advice.
  • Responsible for planning and implementation of schedules supplied by Central Planning Unit.
  • Ensures that safe working practices are followed by his Department employees and see that they are issued with and use personal protective equipment.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s / Diploma Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Ship Repair Yard Mechanical workshop, and hands-on experience On-board Ships..
