Job Description:
Position: Procurement Manager
Location: Kolkata, India
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services.
- Manage the entire procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply chains.
- Monitor market trends and conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and report on cost savings and efficiencies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
- Implement and maintain procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in the engineering, construction, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM).
- Experience with international procurement and global supply chains.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and green procurement.
