Job Description:
A Data Centre Project Manager with 6+ years of experience is responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of data Centre infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory standards. The role demands strong coordination across multidisciplinary teams including civil, MEP, IT, network, and security, with a sharp focus on availability, reliability, scalability, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle from concept, design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, to handover
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
- Manage multiple workstreams (civil, electrical, mechanical, IT, and networking)
- Ensure adherence to Uptime Institute Tier standards, TIA-942, and other relevant data Centre norms
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams
- Manage contractors, OEMs, and service providers for UPS, HVAC, DG sets, BMS, EMS, fire suppression, and structured cabling
- Conduct regular project review meetings with stakeholders and report progress.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, BOQs, and cost estimates
- Track project costs, approve invoices, and control overruns
- Support procurement and contract negotiations
- Oversee installation and integration of:
- Electrical systems (HT/LT panels, UPS, PDUs, generators)
- Mechanical systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers)
- Fire detection and suppression systems
- BMS/EMS and monitoring systems
- Ensure redundancy (N, N+1, 2N) and high availability architecture
- Validate method statements, drawings, and design documents
Required Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on Project managing expertise experience, with at least 5+ years in Data Centre environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
