Location: Pewaukee, WI
Industry: Manufacturing (fabricated metal product)
Status of Hire: direct placement; permanent
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the product development process from end-to-end, ensuring projects are planned, executed, and delivered efficiently and on schedule. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timetable.
- Align project objectives, prioritize tasks, and ensure seamless communication throughout the development process by working closely with product development, marketing, engineering, and operations teams.
- Effectively allocate resources, manage budgets, and ensure optimal utilization of available assets to meet project goals.
- Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to address challenges and potential roadblocks.
- Guide and monitor the product development process, from concept ideation, prototyping, testing, to final product production. Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop detailed project schedules and milestones, tracking progress and providing regular status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Address technical issues, bottlenecks, and conflicts that arise during development, solving problems and implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track.
- Evaluate project outcomes, identify areas for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance product development efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, progress reports and project plans.
- Assume administration and ownership of project management and project collaboration tools.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field required.
- PMP or other project management certificate or accreditation preferred.
- 7+ years' experience in manufacturing and/or product development desired.
- Experience in an ISO manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher
- Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects from initiation to completion. Experience in the product development life cycle is essential.
- Background in engineering or another technical field is preferred, as it enables a deeper understanding of the product development process and better collaboration with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to use metrics and data to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adjusting to changing priorities and requirements.
- Experience with metals manufacturing preferred but not required.
- Must enjoy working in a team environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must be able to walk or stand on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus.
